Abrams Creek Wetlands Preserve Nature Walks

Sponsored by the Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society, these walks are great opportunities to observe birds, bees, butterflies and flowers along the paved walkway at Abrams Creek Wetland Preserve.  Bring water, camera and binoculars to get the most enjoyment from your walk.

Each walk begins at 8:30 AM and last about two hours.  Meet at the corner of Jubal Early, Handley, Meadow Branch avenues.  This event is cancelled in inclement weather. 

Parking is available along the roadside, or at the Abrams Crossing Shopping Center nearby.  The path is paved and wheelchair accessible.  The walk is open to everyone!

Join Us for a FREE Beginning Bird Walk

A bird walk is a great opportunity to enjoy nature and potentially see some great birds! We're planning for an easy 1.5 hour walk guided by our staff and our Zeiss Binocular Representative. The walk is free, but it may be cold, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

If you have binoculars, you mat bring bring them. Our Zeiss Rep will also have a binoculars available for anyone that doesn't have a pair, or just wants to try them out.  You'll learn how to customize your binoculars for the best views, as well as how to find, follow and identify the birds we see.
